There are not many places that combine food and festivity quite like the annual BBC Good Food Show at the NEC. Returning to Birmingham for four days on Thursday 30 November, the biggest show of the BBC’s Good Food tour will certainly put you in the mood for Christmas.

The event draws in huge crowds every year, all eager to see the celebrity chefs and take in all that the BBC Good Food Show has to offer. But if you scratch the surface a little further, you’ll see why these four days might just be the biggest and best festive day out this Christmas.

This year, the famous Big Kitchen super theatre will welcome some of the most recognisable chefs in the country, as they display their favourite seasonal recipes. Mary Berry, the Hairy Bikers, James Martin, Nadiya Hussain, Michel Roux Jr and more will all be live on stage, sharing exciting recipe ideas and inspiration to make your Christmas cooking stand out this year.

You can also catch a host of famous faces, including recent Great British Bake Off runner-up, Steven Carter-Bailey, cooking their signature festive recipes live in the Winter Kitchen. Plus, pick up top tips to get the family involved this season in the new Friends and Family Festive Kitchen, including turkey carving masterclasses and how to make the most of your leftovers with award-winning Kelly Bronze Turkey.

Along with the expert insight, the other big attraction for the Show is its vast shopping opportunities. Whether buying for yourself, or looking for gift inspiration, the 400+ independent and artisan retailers will be on hand to help.

Whilst browsing the stalls, keep an eye out for McLaren’s Christmas Pudding, and sample its wonderful fruity Christmas Day dessert recipe, or stock up your cheeseboard with a visit to the many cheese producers on offer. The season isn’t complete without mince pies, and you’ll find an array of pastry-wrapped treats at the family-run Incredible Pies.

For those looking for gift ideas, there will be everything from specialist knife stalls and cookware to the always-popular drinks presents from the likes of Thunder Toffee Vodka and Portobello Road Gin. Plus discover Birmingham based wine authorities Premier Wine Estates and Shawbury Vintners.

New for 2017, learn the art of blending in The Whisky Lounge Blending Lab. With plenty of sessions across every day of the Show, visitors will get to taste a classic blend before being let loose with their own set of whiskies to experiment with. Create your own blend with help from the experts, ready to be bottled in miniature – the perfect treat for yourself or as a stocking filler for the whisky lover in your life.
